How it works

The Microchip Pet Feeder Connect links to the Sure Petcare app via the Hub, which is connected to your home router. Each Hub can connect up to ten devices, including our connected doors.

Setting the right portion weight

Set the portion weight and select the food type (wet or dry or both) using the Sure Petcare app.

The LEDs illuminate as you add food and flash when you have reached the correct weight.

Can you have both wet and dry food in the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder Connect?
Yes, both wet and dry food can be used in the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder Connect. The smart pet feeder comes with a grey SureFeed Single Bowl and 2 x grey SureFeed Half Bowls in the box, allowing you to serve and monitor wet and dry food consumption at the same time. You can buy additional bowls for the smart feeder in various colours to match your cat or small dog’s personality.
I have multiple pets; do they both need a SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder?
Your cat’s or small dog’s feeding habits will determine if you need more than one SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder Connect or not. If you have pets that constantly steal each other’s food, then we do recommend they each have their own smart feeder to ensure they are both eating the right amount. If you have a pet on a prescription diet, you might only need to give that pet a SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder Connect, which will prevent other pets from eating their prescription food. If you have one pet who eats all their food quickly and another who grazes slowly throughout the day then you may only need a feeder for the pet that grazes, giving them access to their own food throughout the day.
Can my pet still use the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder Connect even if they aren’t microchipped?
We do recommend that you use the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder Connect with your pet’s microchip, however the feeder can be used with a Sure Petcare RFID Collar Tag if your pet is not microchipped. A collar tag is supplied with the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder Connect and additional collar tags can be purchased separately if needed. Always make sure to use a breakaway collar if microchipping isn’t an option.
Is the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder Connect suitable for dogs?
Yes, small and some medium sized dogs can use the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder Connect successfully.
What app notifications will I receive for the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder Connect?
If you have notifications enabled for the Sure Petcare App, you will receive notifications when the bowl is filled with food and each time your pet eats from the bowl. When your pet eats from the bowl, the notification will tell you how much food they ate at that visit. Notifications can give you peace of mind that your pet is eating as normal when you are out of the house, or that your pet sitter is feeding your pet correctly.
Do I need the Hub for the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder Connect?
Yes, the Sure Petcare Hub connects your SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder Connect to the Sure Petcare App so you can receive notifications for when your pet eats and how much food they have eaten. It will also allow you to use the meal portioning guide light to support feeding the correct amount of food eat time. With the ability to add 60 Sure Petcare Connect devices, you only need 1 Hub per household should you have other Sure Petcare app-connected products in your home.
How long do the batteries last in a SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder Connect?
The SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder Connect requires 4 x C Cell (LR14) batteries to work, these are not supplied with the product. Typically, the batteries will last approximately up to 6 months. The LED on the feeder will flash red every 4-5 seconds when the batteries need changing, this will start several days/weeks before the batteries are completely empty. When the batteries run out completely, the lid will open and remain open, leaving the food open to other household pets.
